The Stephenville Economic Development Authority recently unveiled its new Texas Music Hallway, a dedicated space designed to celebrate Texas music, local culture, and the artists and events that have helped shape Stephenville’s musical identity.

Located inside the SEDA headquarters, the hallway was created as a visual tribute to the people, places, and sounds that make Texas music such an important part of the community. The space features a custom Texas Music Festival wallpaper, mounted guitars, framed records, artist memorabilia, and displays honoring the lasting impact of music in Stephenville and across the State. It also highlights more than just entertainment.  It recognizes the economic and cultural impact music has on the region and the meaningful role it continues to play in Stephenville’s growth and identity.

“Music has always been a part of the culture of Stephenville,” said Jeff Sandford, President and CEO of the Stephenville Economic Development Authority. “This tribute is our way of showing appreciation for the artists, events, and people who have helped put Stephenville on the map and continue to make this community special.”

Tarleton student, Emily Sword served as project coordinator for the Texas Music Hallway as part of her internship, helping SEDA oversee the design, planning, and installation of the space. Her work helped bring SEDA’s vision to life by creating a space that honors Texas music, local artists, and Stephenville’s connection to the industry.

The project also supports Stephenville’s broader recognition as a Texas Music Friendly Community, reinforcing the City’s commitment to celebrating music, supporting local culture, and honoring the artists and events that contribute to the area’s quality of life.

For SEDA, this effort serves as another way to tell Stephenville’s story.

“Economic development is not just about buildings and businesses,” Sandford said. “It is also about culture, quality of life, and the things that make people proud to call a place home. Texas music is one of those things for Stephenville.”
